Load up on adrenaline with a fun morning abseiling down cliffs in the fantastic setting of the Derbyshire Peak District!
Under the supervision of a qualified instructor, practice sailing with confidence down the rock face using ropes and learning the techniques to control your descent and master your abseil.
There’s time for a picnic lunch on the rocky outcrops, with stunning views of the Dark Peak moorlands and the Hope Valley, before continuing with more rocky adventures in the afternoon!
Learn mountain scrambling skills on a popular scramble set in the higher and wilder part of the Peak District, the Grindsbrook and Crowden Cloughs.
With beautiful and varying scenery throughout, this is a great walk up a picturesque valley with an abundance of crags and rock formations.
This exhilarating route is a ‘Grade 1’ scramble – a perfect first-time scramble for hikers looking to progress onto more adventurous terrain – you’ll use your hands as well as your feet making your way up the slopes.
Traverse rocky slabs, boulders, brooks and waterfalls with your skillful expedition leader to help you improve your balance, footwork, and movement skills, and improving your confidence in the climb.
At the summit, add a small rock to the cairn, and enjoy the extraordinary views across Edale and the Great Ridge, snapping those final photos just as the sun begins to set.
It’s finally time to end the day’s rocky-road adventure with a return to the drop-off at 18:30 pm Middlewood Park & Ride, S6 1TQ.
Walk details: 9.7 km / 6 miles | Total ascent 600 m | approx. 3.5 hours
Terrain: Stony paths and boulders. Steep terrain which will be very rocky and unsteady in places. Depending on the water levels, some areas of muddy ground.
