Start the day with a coastal hike to Chapel Lookout. Learn about the geology and ecology of the dominating chalk landscape as you hike through ridges and valleys stretching along one of Britain’s finest coastlines.
After a picnic lunch, the adventure continues with one of the most challenging and exciting ways to discover the secrets of the coast – coasteering!
This is a truly adrenaline-fuelled and physical adventure. You can expect plenty of scrambling over rocks and jumping off cliffs as we reach those hidden and most unreachable stretches of the Dorset coastline.
With an expert instructor, you’ll be swimming between the dramatic Dorset cliffs and exploring hidden sea caves in the most exhilarating coastal activity there is.
Coasteering is a great way to get up-close-and-personal with Dorset’s marine species including birds, crabs, fish and seagulls a-plenty as you navigate between the sea and coast on this unique adventure-trail.
Finish the day with a stop-off at one of the most iconic locations in Dorset, the historic Corfe Castle, for an afternoon ice-cream before returning for drop-off at at 18:00 pm Mount Pleasant Park & Ride, DT3 5HJ or alternatively at 18:30 pm Weymouth Train Station, DT4 7BN.
Walk details: 5.2 km / 3.2 miles | Total ascent 132m | approx. 2 hours
Terrain: A well maintained, but naturally uneven coastal path. Expect a stony and grassy track surface; there may be wet, uneven and soft sections. A stretch of steep ascent at Chapel Lookout with steps for the climb. No stiles.
Please note: You’ll need to be confident in the water able to swim 50m with basic-level fitness for climbing and pulling yourself into and out of the water for this tour.
